Bramble Cocktail

Shot for Imbibe Magazine

Famed bartender (the late great) Dick Bradsell invented The Bramble in Soho at Fred's Club in the 1980's. Inspired by the blackberries he used to pick as a child on the Isle of Wight, Dick wanted to create something that encapsulated that taste and feeling.

50ml Gin

20ml Lemon Juice

15ml Crème de Mure/Cassis (Blackberry Liqueur)

10ml Sugar Syrup

Add the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup into a mixing glass. Fill a mixing glass with cubed ice and fill a rocks glass with crushed ice. Shake for 10 seconds. Strain mixture into glass and top up with crushed ice. Pour Crème de Mure/Cassis into the drink using bar spoon so it slowly seeps into the mixture. Garnish with 2 lemon slices and blackberry.
